Two Freshmen Take Home UAC Weekly Awards

CARROLLTON, Ga. - Following another dominating road win, UWG football was awarded two United Athletic Conference honors, with TJ Lester taking home UAC Freshman of the Week and Simon Zeidan earning UAC Special Teams Player of the Week.

In Louisiana, Lester pounded the rock 14 times, totaling a career-high 47 yards and two touchdowns. Currently, the freshman back is tied for a UAC-high three touchdowns this season. Lester is the first UWG athlete to earn this award.

Marking the second-ever time a Wolf earned UAC Special Teams Player of the Week, Zeidan was awarded this honor after going four-for-four on extra points and two-for-two in field goals, including one that traveled a career-high 46 yards in the Wolves' win over Nicholls. This kick is the third-furthest by a UAC player this season.

After opening the season with back-to-back road games, the Wolves return to the City of Dreams this weekend to host East Tennessee in the home opener. Kickoff from University Stadium is at 6 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 13). Tickets can be purchased here.
