EDISTO ISLAND, S.C. - The UWG women's golf team opened up play in their final tournament of the fall on Monday and are in seventh place with 18 holes to play at the Edisto Island Invitational. 

Emma Baier headlined day one, shooting a four-under 67 on the par 71 layout of the Plantation Course at Edisto Island. Baier had just one blemish on her opening round, finishing with five birdies. She then shot 74 with a triple bogey in round two and is tied for fourth place. 

The first round 67 ties a career-best in terms of par (-4), but posts a career-best score of 67 for Baier. 

For Sophie Dhaliwal, she shot rounds of 75 in both the first and second, and rolled in four birdies in each round. She is tied for 23rd with one roud to play. 

In round one, Sofia Mondragon shot 76 before a second round 77 put her in a 34th-place tie after two rounds. Anna Olesen opened with an 83 and then came back with a second round 77 and is in 62nd place. Rounding out the lineup was Myla Rookard who shot 81 and 82 on Monday and is tied for 66th. 

UWG is in seventh place, trailing Elon who is in sixth by three shots. The Wolves are 11 shots outside of fifth, currently occupied by Georgia State. 

The final round is set for tomorrow from Edisto Island.
