FGCU Eagles Take Series Finale Over UWG

FORT MYERS, Fla. -  West Georgia baseball dropped game three, 5-2 , to Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday at Swanson Stadium.

The Eagles (33-17, 16-10 ASUN) secured the series sweep over UWG (13-37, 10-17 ASUN) today after going ahead two runs in the seventh and keeping the Pack off the board in the final two frames.

For the second straight game, UWG was the first to get on the board. In the top of the second, Anthony Cole's groundout to short gave Mason Cooper enough time to make it home from third and give the Wolves an early lead.

The score remained unchanged until FGCU smacked a solo home run in the third to lock the game at 1-1.

In the fourth, Cole would drive another runner home, this time with an RBI single into left field to give UWG a one-run lead.

Following a pair of scoreless frames, FGCU loaded the bags in the seventh without suffering an out. The Eagles would plate two runs from the excellent scoring position, resulting in a 3-2 lead for the hosts.

This lead would increase to 5-2 in the eighth following back-to-back RBI base hits by the Eagles.

The Wolves would fall 5-2.

UWG takes a short break before hitting the road back to the Sunshine State to take on North Florida in the final regular season series of 2026.

NOTABLE NUMBERS
