The Center for Student Involvement & Inclusion has put a great deal of time and effort into making the Student Gameday Experience outstanding. In the 2021 season, CSII and Student Affairs planned a fantastic party for students around the Wolf Walk. Listed below are just a few of the offerings for The Hill Student Tailgate Zone last year. More details on week-to-week tailgate activities will be coming in August.

Tailgating at University Stadium 

There are multiple opportunities for students and alumni to tailgate around Wolf Plaza and participate in Gameday tailgating. For alumni, a weekly large-tent tailgate will be set up near Wolf Plaza in close proximity to The Wolf Walk. 

Tailgating Reservations For Students and Alumni: 
Reservations will be taken this year for the Wolf Walk and the Wolves Tailgate Lot. The Hill will be for general student tailgating with food, fun activities, and games. Spaces will be available on The Hill for student groups, but the best way to make sure your spot is reserved is through the Wolf Walk and Wolves Tailgate Lot. 

To reserve your spot for the Wolf Walk and The Hill, the tailgating reservation form will be available three weeks prior to the game and will be available until thee days before the game. The reservation links will be listed below

The Wolf Walk

Students, alumni, and the community come together around Wolf Plaza to welcome the Wolves to University Stadium approximately 1 ½ hours before kickoff at each game. High-five, fist bump, grab a selfie and let the Wolves know you are ready to take on this week's opponent as the team walks by in uniform. Shake hands with head coach David Dean and wish the UWG football team well in today's game.

GENERAL INFORMATION

• How do I get tickets to the game?
  • Advance purchase of your tickets is encouraged! Ahead of gameday, be sure to visit uwgathletics.com/tickets or purchase your tickets through the Hometown Fan app, available on any app store. If you need assistance with your order, please call the Main Athletics Office at 678-839-6533, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
  • The University Stadium ticket booths will open 90 minutes prior to kickoff to assist you with your Hometown Ticketing purchase. No cash will be accepted at ticket booths on the day of the game.
  • UWG Students are afforded one free ticket to the school home game. Students will use their 917 number as a promo code at uwgathletics.com/tickets to secure their ticket to each home game. The easiest way to secure student tickets is to download the Hometown Fan App, available on any App Store.
  • General admission tickets will be available for UWG Faculty & Staff for the 2022 season for $5. To take advantage of the 50% off for UWG Fac/Staff, simply login to the Hometown Fan App or visit uwgathletics.com/tickets, then enter your 917 number as the promo code. There are no limits to the number of available tickets at the discounted price, but the discount will be available only for general admission.

• What can I do while tailgating?
  • Community tailgating for faculty, staff, alumni, and community members is permitted on days of home football games and is for the exclusive use of those fans attending the games.
  • The university will permit tailgating activities in designated areas, intended to give football fans the opportunity to arrive early, park, and have their own food and beverages prior to each game.

• How early can I arrive and how late can I stay?
  • Community tailgating locations will typically open for individuals to enter the Athletic Complex five (5) hours prior to kick off on the day of the game. University-sponsored tailgating events typically begin 2-3 hours prior to kickoff.
  • All tailgating must be concluded no later than two hours after the completion of the game.

• When will the gates to University Stadium be open?
  • Stadium gates open 90 minutes before kickoff.
  • Gameday tip: Take a chance to greet the team ahead of the game with the Wolf Walk 90 minutes before the game, then come on into University Stadium.

• What do I do if there’s inclement weather?
  • Tailgating spaces and reservations can occur rain or shine.
  • In case of emergency, the public address announcer will notify fans of developing situations in order to make informed decisions concerning their wellbeing. Upon arrival, please familiarize yourself with the nearest exit points of the stadium and Athletic Complex.

PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION

• Where do I park?
  • View the Parking Map to see our available lots around University Stadium.
  • Gameday parking for the main lot (Lot B) at University Stadium is reserved for those with reserved parking passes and for ADA accessibility. Lot A, Lot C, and the Wolves Tailgate Lot are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Overflow parking is available on the main lots on campus. For fans parking on campus, a UWG Stadium Shuttle will be accessible from 2 hours before kickoff until two hours after the conclusion of the game.
  • Students are encouraged to utilize the buses from campus and to join UWG Athletics on The Hill near Wolf Plaza.

• How do I get around campus while I’m here?
  • For our fans’ convenience, the university provides complimentary shuttles between University Stadium and various locations on campus:
    • Bookstore
    • Coliseum
    • Z-6
    • Education Center/Tyus
    • Aycock/Richards Hall
    • Row Hall
    • University Community Center (UCC)
    • The Oaks
    • East Commons
    • Townsend Center
• Can I tailgate in the parking lot?
  • We invite you to consider tailgating in the Wolves Tailgate Lot, which made it's debut in the fall of 2021. Reservations can be made three weeks in advance by visiting the UWG gameday page.
  • An appropriate number of parking spaces have been allocated to accommodate most fans. To help meet these parking needs, we ask that you do not set up tailgating materials in the surrounding parking spaces.  Grassy areas adjoining all parking areas are available for your tailgating experience and enjoyment.

TAILGATING AMENITIES

• Where are the restrooms?
  • Restrooms and water fountains are available two-and-a-half hours before kickoff near the stadium’s northeastern gate (near Wolf Plaza). Portable restrooms are also conveniently located in various locations outside the stadium for your convenience.
  • Once the stadium gates open (90 minutes before kickoff), restroom facilities are located on the concourse level of both East and West sides of University Stadium.
  • All restrooms in University Stadium are ADA-accessible, and baby-changing stations are available in all restrooms.
• Does the university provide power sources for tailgating?
  • Power sources, including generators, for tailgating needs are the responsibility of the fan. The university and UWG Athletics will not supply power sources for personal use.
• Will there be trash and recycling bins near my tailgate?
  • Trash and recycling bins will be conveniently located throughout the UWG Athletic Complex.
  • Fans are encouraged to Leave our Campus beautiful by cleaning up before heading into the stadium.
• Are there any UWG traditions to enjoy before the game?
  • Wolf Walk! Ninety minutes before kickoff, watch as the Wolves walk past Wolf Plaza, down The Hill, and into University Stadium. Cheerleaders, the UWG Marching Band, and fans line the walk to howl with the players and share their UWG pride!
• Is there a designated children’s area?
  • Yes, we have the Junior Wolves Fun Den! Young ones are invited to join us between Wolf Plaza and the stadium for spirit-filled activities prior to the game. Children should remain under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian at all times.
• Do you have any tent guidelines?
  • The standard size for tailgate tents in the UWG Athletic Complex is 12-feet-by-12-feet or smaller. If you would like to utilize a larger tent, please contact.
  • Guests should follow the manufacturer’s guidelines on using pop-up and canopy tents.
  • The university reserves the right to direct fans to take down their tent for safety or courtesy reasons.

FAN EXPECTATIONS

• Is there a code of conduct for fans?
  • Coaches, student-athletes, employees or individuals associated with each institution, including alumni, fans, patrons, and boosters shall conduct themselves with respect and good sportsmanship. Read the full Gulf South Conference Spectator Code of Conduct for more information.
  • Fans are responsible for their own conduct and safety. The university is not responsible for any loss or injury that occurs on university property.

• Is consumption of alcoholic beverages permitted while tailgating?
  • In accordance with UWG’s Alcohol Policy, alcohol is allowed at any major event which is designated by the president as a tailgate event. Participants in tailgating parties are expected to follow all relevant laws and UWG’s Alcohol Use Policy, including not serving alcohol to anyone under 21 years of age, not giving alcoholic beverages to any obviously intoxicated person, and not driving while intoxicated.
  • Alcohol will be permitted in the tailgating area only. Groups are responsible for ensuring only those who are 21 years of age or older consume alcohol. All beverages, including alcohol, must be in opaque cups.
  • Kegs and other common containers are not allowed at any time.
  • Glass containers are not allowed except to hold alcohol in its original bottled package in your cooler or closed container.

• Can I play music while I’m tailgating?
  • Yes, you are more than welcome to play music at your tailgate. Please remember that UWG gameday is designed to be a family-friendly experience for all attendees. Sound levels must be kept low enough to avoid disrupting university activities or the tailgating activities of others in the area.
  • Additionally, all outdoor amplified sound must be turned off 15 minutes before the beginning of the game, and it may only resume after the conclusion of the event.

• Can I grill out while I’m tailgating?
  • Groups may bring their own picnic items and food to their tailgate area.
  • Grilling is permitted in accordance with the following guidelines:
    • Propane and charcoal grills only
    • Grill must be elevated and may not contact paved parking lots
    • Fires must be extinguished and coals must be removed from campus for disposal
    • Grilling may be prohibited during dry conditions upon prior announcement.

• Can I bring my pet?
  • Animals are not permitted inside University Stadium.

• Can I fly a drone on gameday?
  • Any use of unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones, on campus must have prior written approval from the Office of Risk Management. Please email safety@westga.edu for more information.

• Can I smoke or use tobacco products while tailgating?
  • In accordance with the Georgia SmokeFree Air Act of 2005, Title 31 Chapter 12A, the use of all forms of tobacco products on property owned, leased, rented, in the possession of, or in any way used by the University System of Georgia (USG) or its affiliates is expressly prohibited. This prohibition includes, but is not limited to, all areas indoors and outdoors, buildings and parking lots owned, leased, rented, or otherwise used by the USG or its affiliates.

• Are weapons allowed?
  • As an intercollegiate venue, the UWG Athletic Complex is a weapons-free zone.

• Can I sell or market anything while I’m tailgating?
•  
  • No sales activities, marketing, or solicitation are allowed on the University of West Georgia campus, including any and all tailgating areas, without permission from the Senior Associate Vice President for Auxiliary Enterprises and Business Services. Email auxent@westga.edu to request permission.

Students will be able to take advantage of The Hill, reserved spots on the Wolf Walk and the Wolves Tailgate Lot. WE ARE ONE FOUR-GAME MINI-PACK
Fans who would like to make sure that they don't miss any of the action in University Stadium for the remainder of the 2023 season are encouraged to pick up your Reserved Chairback seat with the We Are One Mini-Pack. With the Wolves moving to the Atlantic Sun / United Athletic Conference in 2024, you will want to make sure you are also in line to purchase road game tickets for next season. The only way to secure that spot in line is to purchase the We Are One Mini-Pack for $60.

The West Georgia Wolves are set to take on the West Alabama Tigers in a Gulf South Conference clash on October 7 at 6PM on RA-LIN Field at University Stadium. Single-game reserved chairback seats remain available as well as general admission. To purchase your seats, visit the Wolves Event Store.

FACULTY & STAFF
General admission tickets will be available for UWG Faculty & Staff for the 2022 season for $5. To take advantage of the 50% off for UWG Fac/Staff, simply login to the Hometown Fan App or visit uwgathletics.com/tickets, then enter the PASSCODE sent via UWG Email to all Faculty & Staff. Use that PASSCODE before you select your number of tickets. There are no limits to the number of available tickets at the discounted price, but the discount will be available only for general admission. For the 2023 season, Faculty and Staff members are also afforded a discounted price on football season tickets, with season tickets available by using your 917 number as a PASSCODE for $50. Faculty/Staff season tickets will be available on May 6. 

STUDENTS
UWG Students are afforded one free ticket to each ticketed home game throughout the academic year. Students will use their UWG username as a PASSCODE on the front page to secure their season passes, which provides entry to each home game throughout the athletic year. Simply use your UWG username as the PASSCODE BEFORE YOU ENTER YOUR NUMBER OF TICKETS NEEDED. Email mcooke@westga.edu if your UWG username does not work.The easiest way to keep your student tickets handy is to download the Hometown Fan App, available at any App Store.

Preferred parking in Lot B is available for $50 for the entire season. Lot B also features 29 parking spaces labeled as "tailgate friendly" and those spots have a flat grassy area behind the parking space that allows for a 10'x10' tent. Those spots are available for $300 for the entire season.

2023 UWG Football Season Ticket FAQ

Q: How do I purchase a ticket to a game?
A: Visit http://uwgathletics.com/tickets and click on BUY TICKETS at the top of the page. You can also purchase tickets using the Hometown Fan app on iOS or Android devices.

Q: After I make my purchase, how do I receive my tickets?
A: If you purchase your tickets via uwgathletics.com, your tickets will be emailed to the email address provided at checkout as a PDF attachment. If you use the HomeTown Fan app, your tickets will be emailed to you, but will also be accessible digitally in the HomeTown ticketing app.  A ticket cannot be scanned twice, so once a printed or digital ticket is scanned, it is no longer valid.

Q: What are the benefits of using the HomeTown Fan App?
A: You can purchase, store and access your tickets right in the app. You can also easily send your digital tickets to a friend, if you are unable to attend a game. You can also favorite your school for easy access to events.

Q: Are all tickets digital this year?
A: Yes, but you can print them off and bring to gate to be scanned.

Q:  What if I don't have a smart phone?
A:  Purchase your tickets at uwgathletics.com/tickets and print off the PDF attachment that comes with your confirmation email. Bring to the game to be scanned.  

Q: I'm new to digital ticketing but want to try it.
A: Purchasing from the uwgathletics.com site is a very easy 4 step process. Click "Get Tickets" next to the event you wish to purchase. Add either your General Admission ticket(s) or click "View Seats" to choose a Chairback Seat. Once your seat(s) are selected, click "Checkout" then enter your contact information. Your other option is to download the HomeTown Fan App. When you are in the app, search for "University of West Georgia" (favorite the school), and select the game you wish to attend. Follow the prompts on the app then checkout.  We think you will find it very easy to use.  We will have staff on hand game day to help you purchase tickets using the app, if needed.

Q: Will I be able to renew my seats in future seasons?

Yes. Your same seats can be renewed from season to season. 

The University of West Georgia Junior Wolves program is an annual membership with UWG Athletics for kids ages 0-12. The program is designed for children to enjoy the excitement and healthy benefits of UWG Athletics. Junior Wolves will have the opportunity to interact with our athletes, participate in home games, and enjoy a variety of activities associated with the Wolves.

All Junior Wolves will be able to sign up via online registration for the 2021-22 athletic year, allowing for credit card payments only at this time. Click this link for online sign up and registration. Sign up will be available online and those who sign up during the week may pick up their Junior Wolves T-Shirt at the Junior Wolves Fun Den tent located in close proximity to The Wolf Walk. The Junior Wolves Fun Den allows for children to participate in fun activities, including bounce houses, face-painting, and much more, opening approximately two hours prior to kickoff on Gameday at University Stadium. 

RETURNING FOR 2023!! 
ALL JUNIOR WOLVES WILL BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEAD THE TEAM ONTO THE FIELD AT EVERY GAME. To take advantage, please bring your Junior Wolf to the bottom of the stairwell on the home sideline, nearest the Athletic Operations Building 30 minutes prior to game time. Once on the field, proceed to the home sideline stairwell nearest the scoreboard to pick up your child. 

Information on membership costs to join the Junior Wolves will be coming shortly. Junior Wolves will receive the following:
