Biography
Wood had a stroke average of 74 in 2009, winning four out of his 10 tournaments through the year. He finished in the top-10 in all but one of those tournaments as well, cementing his spot at the 2009 Georgia PGA Junior Golfer of the Year for the 16-18 age group.
"Chase is a solid golfer who will give us a boost at any tournament," said Horn. "I expect he will contend for one of the top spots very soon after he arrives."
He finished in third place at the Georgia Junior PGA Championships in 2009 with a score of 74 and 72. In 2010, he was fifth at the same tournament after a 71 and 70 in the first and second rounds, but was forced to withdraw during the final round.
In the summer of 2008, he competed in the Nike Jr. Allstar at TPC Sawgrass, placing second with scores of 78, 70 and 78. He was the junior club champion at the Governors Towne Club in 2009 with a score of 69.
