Carrollton, GA - The UWG men's basketball team took a 79-62 loss on Sunday afternoon in The Coliseum, dropping their Gulf South Conference home opener and their first loss of the season to the Alabama Huntsville Chargers.

The Chargers began the contest on a 9-0 run, before Deonta Stocks got the Wolves on the board with a free throw just over two minutes into the game. The Chargers built as much as a 19 point lead midway through the first half, and went into the locker room leading 46-31.

The second half saw the Chargers continue to dominate, going up by as much as 22 in the period. The Wolves were outscored 33-31 in the second period.

Sophomore Deonta Stocks scored 34 points in the losing effort, despite fouling out with over four minutes to go in the game. Emory Bernard was the next leading scorer for UWG with eight points.

The Wolves move to 7-1 on the season and 2-1 in GSC play. The Wolves will be on the road in their next action at Christian Brothers on December 18th at 8:30 p.m.
