UWG Men’s Basketball Signs Williams

5/13/2026 9:35:00 AM

CARROLLTON, Ga.- West Georgia head men's basketball coach Dave Moore reported today that Amir Williams officially signed to compete for the Wolves next season.

Making his way from Hofstra University, Williams is a 6-foot-7 guard who has spent the last two seasons competing for the Pride.

"We are very excited to add Amir to the UWG Basketball family," said Moore. "He will bring a ton of versatility to our roster. He is a talented big wing/combo forward that can do a lot of things. He was on an NCAA tournament team last year at Hofstra and we look forward to Amir bringing talent and leadership to our program!"

Over the past two seasons with Hofstra, the Delaware native saw action in three games, averaging 1.7 rebounds, 1.3 points and 1.0 steal per game. Prior to joining the Pride, Williams competed for Neumann Goretti in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Before his time in high school was said and done, Williams led his team to the 2022 PCL City and State Championships on a 10.6 points per game average.

Williams joins college transfers Justin Redmond and Juaquin Dixon, and high school signee Jaylin Sweat in the UWG 2026 class.
