Carrollton, GA - The Gulf South Conference season rolls on for the West Georgia Wolves, as UWG takes on the Christian Brothers Buccaneers on Thursday evening at Canale Arena in Memphis, TN. The men's game is set to tip off at approximately 8:30 p.m.
UWG vs. Christan Brothers
One of the least amount of contests in a series comes against the Christian Brothers, as Thursday's matchup between UWG and CBU will be the just the 13th in the history of the series. The Wolves have won just twice in the series, with both wins coming at home. UWG won on a last second shot by a 56-55 count early in the 2009-10 season, then won last year at The Coliseum in February by a 68-61 score. In that win, Deonta Stocks and

UWG Breakdown
The Wolves are currently 7-1 on the season and 2-1 in Gulf South Conference play after falling to No. 20 Alabama Huntsville this past Sunday at The Coliseum. West Georgia won their first two on the road, beating Delta State and Mississippi College in the first weekend in December. The Wolves opened the year with a seven-game winning streak and lead the GSC with 88.9 points per game on the year.
CBU Breakdown
Christian Brothers comes into Thursday's matchup wiith a 5-2 record on the year and a 3-1 spot in conference action. The Bucs have already made headlines this season, knockiing off Memphis in the exhibition season. CBU beat Lee and Shorter on the first weekend of conference play, then fell at home to Delta State in the third game before beating Mississippi College this past weekend.
Battle at the Top
Thursday's contest will be a matchup of the top two scorers in the Gulf South Conference, as West Georgia's Deonta Stocks and CBU's Trey Casey go head-to-head. Stocks averages 22.1 points per game on the season, while Casey is averaging 19.4 points per game on the year. Casey is also just behind Stocks in shooting percentage, hitting 54 percent of his shots to Stocks' 52 percent.
