* For the fourth straight season, the West Georgia Wolves and the Miles College Golden Bears will line up against each other under the lights. West Georgia leads the series with Miles 6-1, winning last year in Carrollton by a 31-7 score.
* The Wolves opened the 2014 season and the tenure of head coach Will Hall with a victory last weekend at University Stadium. West Georgia dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, outrushing visiting Mars Hill 392-44. But the dominance didn't stop there, as the Wolves racked up nearly 530 yards of total offense while MHU had just 323.
* West Georgia is coached by Will Hall, who is in his first season at West Georgia. He has an overall record of 26-11 in three years as a head coach. Miles is led by head coach Reggie Ruffin, who is in his fourth season at Miles with a career record of 21-12-0.
* This week's battle of the coaches comes with a pair of leaders who have similar backgrounds. Both UWG head coach Will Hall and Miles coach Reggie Ruffin are graduates of The University of North Alabama and each had a stellar career in Florence. Hall was a Harlon Hill winner at UNA and Ruffin was a two-time All-American.
* Senior linebacker
Tyrell Adams was the team leader in tackles in 2013 and started off the 2014 campaign in the same spot with seven tackles, with tied him for the team lead against Mars Hill with junior safety
Jamaree James. Adams also had two sacks and three tackles for a loss, which earned him the Gulf South Conference Defensive Player of the Week award.
* Despite a 392-yard rushing day for the UWG offense, it was through the air where the most scoring came against Mars Hill. In that game, the Wolves had five touchdowns, with three passing and two rushing. Only one player, junior receiver
Chris Terry, had more than one score, and he had two touchdown receptions.
* For the first time since 2011, running back
Brandon Lucas stepped onto the field of play. An All-American at Delta State, Lucas didn't look rusty on Saturday, carrying the ball 18 times for 151 yards in his return to the gridiron.
