* The Wolves have now won three straight games, including two to open the season under new head football coach Will Hall. The new coach promised a New Era and a New Attitude at UWG and so far is delivering, as the Wolves pitched the first shutout at UWG since 2005 this past week with a 26-0 win on the road at Miles.

* West Georgia is coached by Will Hall, who is in his first season at West Georgia. He has an overall record of 27-11 in his fourth year as a head coach. Johnson C. Smith is led by head coach Steven Aycock, who is in his fifth season with the Golden Bulls.

* West Georgia's defense has been the talk of the season thus far, as the Wolves have given up just one offensive touchdown on the year, and that came against Mars HIll after a turnover gave the Lions the ball at the UWG 20 yard line. The Wolves allowed just over 300 total yards in each of the first two games, and as a team, West Georgia is giving up 13 points per game.

* The Wolves have 15 tackles for a loss thus far on the season, but nearly half of those have been sacks, as the UWG defensive front has been tough to deal with for opposing offensive lines. UWG opened the game against Miles with a sack by Nathan Teter, forcing a fumble that end Darrius Caldwell pounced on to give the Wolves the ball.

* Through two games this season, the UWG offense is 12th in the nation in rushing yards per game, averaging 307.0 yards on the ground. Senior running back Brandon Lucas is the top runner among three backs who have at least 100 yards gained on the year, averaging 105.0 yards per game.

* West Georgia is 21st in the nation in rushing yards allowed per game a 83.5 per contest. The competition in that category this year is fierce, as the Wolves are fourth in the Gulf South Conference, with Shorter, West Alabama and Delta State among the top-20.
