Box Score
PENSACOLA, Fla. - The West Georgia Wolves closed out the 2016 season with a bang, dominating West Florida in a 69-0 win in Pensacola on Saturday afternoon.

The defense was just as impressive as the offense, picking off a school record six passes in the win. The Wolves won their third game of the season in shutout fashion and allowed just 128 yards of total offense on the day.

On the ground, Lamarcus Franks led with 168 yards and a score while Devontae Jackson added 73 yards and a pair of scores. Travis Custis also got in the endzone twice and added 51 yards. Willie Candler was 13-of-17 for 190 yards and three scores.

In the opening half, West Georgia got points on every single possession, scoring six touchdowns and connecting on two field goals.

West Georgia's offense got off to a red hot start, scoring on their opening possession of the game. Devontae Jackson gave UWG great field position with a 71-yard kick return to the West Florida 19, and after a few plays Willie Candler found DeNiko Carter for a 20-yard score.

The Argos' opening drive ended when Ethan Hopla sacked the UWF quarterback on fourth down and gave the ball back the Wolves, who quickly marched down and scored again on a Lamarcus Franks touchdown from 16 yards out.

After forcing a UWF punt, the Wolves went back to work, driving down the field in six plays, capping off the 78-yard drive on a five yard score on the ground by Devontae Jackson.

West Florida's next drive ended when senior Marcus Sayles picked off his fourth pass of the season. UWG then settled for a field goal, as Hunter Heck drilled a 23-yarder to make it a 24-point lead for the Wolves.

Zed Brown then scored a defensive touchdown for the Wolves on West Florida's next possession, returning an interception 44 yards for the score, giving Brown his second pick-six of the season.

When the Wolves got the ball back, Willie Candler found DeNiko Carter for the second time in the half, this time for a 40-yard score, making it 38-0 with 10:33 left in the half.

Travis Custis became the third different UWG running back with a rushing touchdown when he scampered in from 15 yards out to extend the lead to 45-0.

Trevor Wylie gave the Wolves three more with a 32-yard field goal as time expired in the first half, sending the Wolves to the break with a commanding 48-0 lead.

The second half was more of the same as the Wolves showed out on both offense and defense. Marcus Sayles picked off his second pass of the day and Jakyron Young and Barron Burns each had an interception in the second half.

West Georgia added three touchdowns in the second half, the first coming on a 10-yard toss from Candler to DeNiko Carter, hooking up for the third time on the day.

Devontae Jackson and Travis Custis each added their second touchdowns of the day in the fourth quarter.
