CARROLLTON, Ga. - The University of West Georgia will host a week of exciting activities from Oct. 27-30 for the 2020 Homecoming Festivities. While the annual Homecoming football game is usually the ending to the week, the unique circumstances of this fall will have UWG Football kick off Homecoming week with the Fall Football Game at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
The game will be the third and final scrimmage of the fall, with head coach
David Dean and his staff splitting up the team into a Blue and White squad. The game will be a free event that is part of the Wolves Spirit Day at University Stadium where students and Wolves fans will be able to watch the game and eat in the stands while watching the Wolves on Ra-Lin Field.
For those who are unable to make it to the stadium on Tuesday evening, the university will offer a live stream through the UWG Athletics Facebook page. To watch the game, click here or on the link above.
"This will be a great opportunity to close out our fall practice season in front of a home crowd, and it gives us a way to have a game environment that our athletes have really been needing this fall," said Dean. "We are very appreciative that Dr. Kelly has spearheaded all the efforts that many people across campus have made to create a great experience for our students and athletes."
The stadium will open at 5 p.m. on that Tuesday evening as the Wolves begin to prepare for the Fall Game, which will begin at 6 p.m. Fans may pay $8 per person for the food offerings that will be in the stadium, and students may swipe a meal card. Face coverings are required. Physical distancing protocols will be implemented, and the maximum capacity that will be allowed in the stadium will be 2,000 guests.
The University of West Georgia is a member institution of the Gulf South Conference. In August, the GSC postponed intercollegiate football, soccer, and volleyball competition until Jan. 1.
