McCORMICK, S.C. – Two Wolves finished inside the top-10 and the UWG women's golf team shot a 304 on the final day to finish seventh at the Savannah Lakes Invitational on Tuesday.
Ainsley Cowart was the highlight on Tuesday, firing a two-under 70 with four birdies to finish tied for third. The Winston native now has five top-three finishes in her career and the finish makes it eight top-ten finishes in 10 career starts.
Following a career low on Monday, junior
Maddy Schultz shot a 75 and finished in a sixth-place tie. Schultz made three birdies on Tuesday, giving her eight for the tournament which was good for second most in the field.
Katherine Densmore and
Michelle Bagsic both finished tied for 68
th with Densmore shooting a 79 on Tuesday and Bagsic shooting an 80.
Rounding out the lineup was
Kamryn Roberts, who shot a final round 83. It was the first career start for the junior, who finished in 93
rd place.
As a team, West Georgia finished tied for seventh and was second among Gulf South teams behind Lee who placed fourth. The Wolves finished ahead of GSC foes Montevallo, Shorter, and West Florida.
The Wolves' next tournament is set for October 11-12 at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial in Dahlonega.
