ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. –
Ainsley Cowart's fourth-place individual finish highlighted the final day of the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate as UWG finished fourth as a team in St. Augustine, Florida.
Cowart began her spring season with an uncharacteristic 82 on Monday, but she didn't stay down long, quickly returning to form to shoot a 75 in round two and an even-par 72 in the final round. The Winston native made four birdies and four bogeys on Tuesday, to wrap up the tournament with a spot on the All-Tournament team and her second top-five finish of the year.
As a team, West Georgia shot 321 in the second round, which was concluded today after it was suspended late yesterday evening. In the final round, West Georgia shot 312 with three scores under 80.
One of those came from
Katherine Densmore who finished tied for 17
th with a second round 82 and a final round 79.
Maddy Schultz bounced back nicely from a tough first round on Monday, shooting an 80 in the second round and a 78 in the third.
Ari Samuel finished in 33
rd place with a final round 83 while
Michelle Bagsic shot 85 in rounds two and three to finish in 41
st.
Limestone won the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate with Wingate taking second and Lander finishing in third.
West Georgia's next action is set for March 14-15 at the Peggy Kirk Bell Memorial in Orlando, Florida.
