GREENWOOD, S.C. – Another tournament and another top five finish for
Ainsley Cowart.
The junior finished the Lady Bearcat Invitational on Tuesday with a 71, putting in her a second-place tie individually. Cowart now has 11 top-five finishes in 15 career starts for West Georgia, and now has five runner-up finishes to go with an individual win.
Cowart's 71 helped UWG shoot a final round 305 to move from a fifth-place tie to solo fourth as a team on Tuesday, finishing 12 shots behind Gulf South Conference rival Lee.
Maddy Schultz notched a top-20 by finishing with a 76 on Tuesday and tying for 17
th place.
Ari Samuel had her best finish of the season, tying for 27
th place after a round of 79 on Tuesday.
It was a final round 81 for
Erica Couch who finished tied for 55
th place in her first start of the season.
Katherine Densmore shot 79 on Tuesday to finished in a 58
th-place tie.
Columbus State finished second in the event at Greenwood Country Club while Lincoln Memorial finished third and just three shots ahead of the Wolves.
West Georgia is back in action next week, traveling to Gulf Breeze, Florida for the Argonaut Invitational at Tiger Point Golf Club on April 4-5.
