CARROLLTON, Ga. – A total of 20 representatives of the highly-successful University of West Georgia cheerleading program represented UWG on a global stage lastthis past weekend at the International Cheer Union (ICU) World Championships in Orlando, Florida.
On Team USA All-Girl, 16 Wolves were on the squad that took the silver medal at the cheerleading world's biggest stage. Additionally, UWG head coach Nicole Nichols and assistant coach Asia Chatman serve as assistant coaches for USA All-Girl. On the coed side, two Wolves represented UWG on the gold medal-winning Team USA squad.

ThroughThe ICU, is the recognized world governing body of cheerleading and through them, the sport of cheerleading recently received full recognition by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), making cheerleading an emerging Olympic sport.
