Box Score JACKSON, Tenn. – The University of West Georgia Volleyball team picked up their third conference win of the season on Friday, after sweeping the Union Bulldogs in Jackson.

"This was a fun win," said head coach

The first set was thoroughly dominated by Zoë LaBreche who recorded a staggering eight kills in the set. Midway through the set, the Bulldogs completely changed the complexity of the set, by using a 9-3 run to take an 18-16 lead. After Union's run, LaBreche took the set over as the outside hitter scored five points in the midst of a 9-3 West Georgia run that clinched the game, 25-21 for the Wolves.
In the second set, UWG got out to a 10-6 lead before kills from LaBreche,
Sanai Young,
Sarah Pipping, and
Caitlin Frazee pushed the lead to 15-9. Union scored points here and there but the closest they would get in the set would be four points as multiple blocks by Young and kills from Pipping and
Desha Van Veldhuizen led to a comfortable 25-19 set win for UWG.
Down 2-0 in the match, the Bulldogs came out fighting in set three, leading to an 11-9 advantage to begin. Union's lead wouldn't last for long as West Georgia quickly took control of the set courtesy of a 7-3 run that was capped off by a kill from
Claire Conway. The Bulldogs halted the Wolves momentum momentarily until another kill from LaBreche ignited a 6-2 run, giving UWG match point at 24-19. Union stayed alive by scoring the next two points, before Pipping ended the match with her patented swing.
LaBreche led the way with 17 kills on a .406 hitting percentage, while Van Veldhuizen dished out 39 assists.
Caitlin Frazee also recorded a career-high .538 hitting percentage on seven kills.
"A total team effort with key blocks in big moments," Hellmann continued. "Our serve receive battling and keeping us in system allowed our offense to be explosive tonight,"
West Georgia will end their weekend on Saturday with a 2:00 p.m. GSC matchup against Christian Brothers.
