SPARTANBURG, SC- The University of West Georgia men's cross country team competed in the USC Upstate Invitational at Milliken Research Center on Saturday Morning.
Amongst a field of 18 teams including 10 Division I programs, West Georgia finished in ninth place. It was a good day for the Wolves as seven runners posted new personal records during Saturday morning's meet.
For two consecutive meets, Griffin Stephens finished under the 25:00 barrier as he placed 15th with a time of 24:51.10. Noah Anderson was next to cross the finish line for the Wolves as he finished with a time of 26:20.02. Abenezer Woellore had a time of 26.37.07, while Eduarado Ortiz finished with a time of 26:54.09.
Anthony Garcia finished in 27:02.02, and was followed by Solomon Johnson with a time of 27:10.06. Next was Aiden Thaxton in 27:32.06 and Evan Beasley crossed the finish line at 27:41.04.
Gabriel Wyre finished in 27:52.02 with Tyler Jones being the next to cross the finish line with a time of 28:35.5. Chase Stepehns was the next Wolves' runner to cross the finish line with a time of 29:07.04. Daniel Murtagh was the last of the Wolves to cross the finish line as he finished in 29:46.05.
West Georgia will be back in action in a couple of weeks, as they prepare for the ASUN Conference Championship Meet in DeBarry, FL.
