West Georgia Places Sixth in Season Opener

OXFORD, Ala. - UWG men's cross country opened the 2025 campaign placing sixth out of 20 teams in the Foothills Invitational today at Choccolocco Park.

Leading the way for the Wolves in the 5K was Griffin Stephens with a blistering time of 15:40.66, good for 20th out of the 100 runners.

Interestingly, the Wolves also placed sixth in last year's Foothills Invitational with Stephens leading the Pack.

Following Stephens, Noah Anderson crossed at 15:41.82, Felipe Barrios crossed at 15:50.6, Alex Njoroge recorded a 15:54.6, Abenezer Woellore finished next with a 16:20.3, Solomon Johnson crossed at 16:21.1, Bruno Valdez crossed at 16:30.5, Jesse Baldwin recorded a 16:40.2, Gabriel Wrye finished next with a 16:40.3, Tyler Jones recorded a 16:41.8, Parker Ferguson's time was a 16:42.3, Brock Casey recorded a 16:47.1, Evan Beasley crossed at
16:53.7 and Reed Crabtree's 17:00.1 rounded out the Pack respectively.

NEXT UP
The Wolves take a two week break before returning to Alabama to race in the Southern Showcase at John Hunt Park (Sept. 12).
