Cross Country Wraps Up Regular Season in South Carolina

CARROLLTON, Ga. - The West Georgia cross country teams close out its regular season campaign this Saturday (Oct. 18) at the Upstate Invitational hosted by USC Upstate.

With both teams racing at Millikin Research Park in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the women's 5k is set to start at 9 a.m., while the men's 8k will begin at 9:45 a.m.

At the latest meet, Reatta Danhoff led the women with a new personal-best 5k time of 18:57.10, securing the junior a first place finish. This marked the first time this season that Danhoff led the Pack. Along with Danhoff, the Wolves' top-ten finishes featured Kristal McQueen in fourth, Catherine Greer in fifth and Kathrin Maurer in sixth overall.

For the men, Griffin Stephens' 25:31.11 8k time not only led the Wolves, but everyone at the meet. Remarkably, Stephens has led the Pack in all three events this season. Joining Stephens in the top-ten was Noah Anderson in fifth, Alex Njoroge in eighth, Aiden Thaxton in ninth and Felipe Barrios in tenth.
