Tennis Returns to Action Friday at Home

CARROLLTON, Ga. – It's been a lengthy break after a Tuesday postponement for UWG tennis, but the Wolves are now poised to return to Gulf South Conference action at home on Friday afternoon, hosting Delta State at 1 p.m.

West Georgia (3-6, 0-4 GSC) hasn't played a match since March 14 when they fell 5-2 on the road at Montevallo, and it's UWG's first home match since March 8.

Meanwhile, Delta State (3-5, 2-3 GSC) played on Tuesday and earned a 4-2 win over Tennessee Southern.

The Wolves have been led this season by freshman Lea von Kozierowski who is 4-4 in singles play this season, plating six of her seven matches in line one. Karla Menendez also has four singles wins in 2024, which includes a perfect 3-0 mark in fifth line singles.

Menendez, along with her doubles partner Luna Mouton lead the Wolves with five doubles wins.

Delta State's two league wins came over Montevallo and Shorter while their three conference losses were dealt by Lee, Christian Brothers, and West Alabama.

First serve is set for 1 p.m. from Sunset Hills Country Club in Carrollton.
