Box Score ROME, Ga. - The University of West Georgia Tennis team picked up their second conference win of the season on Wednesday after a 7-0 sweep over the Shorter Hawks.
UWG (6-9, 2-7 GSC) dominated on nearly every court as West Georgia finished off Shorter (2-10, 0-9 GSC) in straight sets in all six singles matches.Â
The Wolves began the match by taking the doubles point after the duos of Karla Menendez/Luna Mouton and Callie Stanfield/Perrine Blachon won their doubles matches, 6-2 and 6-4.
In number one singles, Andy Medel got the best of her former team, winning her singles matches in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0.
Menendez took care of number two singles as she took home a 7-5, 6-2 victory while Rebeca Lopez followed suit with a 6-3, 6-1 win on line three.
In line four, Perrine Blachon dominated her match from start to finish, taking home a 6-0, 6-1 victory while Elle Jones did the same on line six.
To wrap things up, Mouton battled in number five singles and managed to secure a 6-4, 7-6 win.
West Georgia will be back on Thursday at 2:00 PM as they celebrate their seniors on senior day before a home GSC contest against Valdosta State.
