Box Score 2 CARROLLTON, Ga. - An automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals is on the line next week at the Gulf South Conference Championships for the UWG men's and women's golf team as they compete at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Georgia.
It's the final time the Wolves will compete for a GSC Championship in the program's final Division II season.
For the women's team, they head to Valdosta with a lineup featuring two seniors and three freshmen. Seniors Katherine Densmore and Maddy Schultz will compete in their fifth conference championships as Densmore is in the top spot and Schultz is in the three spot. Freshman Jordan Knox is in the second spot of head coach Kristen Golightly's lineup while freshmen Hannah Barrett and Macy Fulton are fourth and fifth. Junior Madison Chappell is UWG's sub if necessary.
On the men's side, head coach Todd Selders, it'll be Brooks Gineris leading the lineup, followed by freshmen Pablo Illescas and Algot Faldt. Rounding out the lineup is Oliwer Person Toiminen and Ethan Kolisz while Tyler Nesci is the Wolves' substitute.
UWG's women's team is the fourth-highest ranked team in the field, with Lee, Montevallo, and West Florida ranked ahead of them. The favorite on the men's side is 10th-ranked Lee followed by West Florida who is ranked 14th in the country.Â
The tournament starts on Monday morning from Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta.
