CARROLLTON, Ga. - The University of West Georgia Department of Athletics recently wrapped up a Spring Semester that saw the department post an overall cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.14 across the Wolves' 16 NCAA sponsored sports as well as cheerleading.

The Wolves also saw a total of 271 student-athletes earn Wolves Student-Athlete Honor Roll honors by posting a 3.00 term GPA or higher.

"We are incredibly proud to acknowledge the outstanding academic achievements of our student athletes this semester. Their dedication, perseverance, and hard work have truly shone through, both in their athletic endeavors and in the classroom," said David Haase, UWG Senior-Associate Athletics Director for Student Development. "Balancing their competition and training schedules with their academic responsibilities is no small feat, and our student athletes have demonstrated remarkable commitment to their pursuit of their degree."

The Wolves Student-Athlete GPA Honor Roll is broken down to four levels based on term GPA, with those posting a 4.00 GPA earning platinum honors. The next level is gold, which is awarded to those with a 3.50-3.99 term GPA. Silver honors go to those with a 3.25-3.49 GPA while those with a 3.00-3.24 GPA earn bronze honors.

Of the 271 student-athletes named to the honor roll, 79 were platinum honors, 99 earned gold honors, 39 were silver, and 54 were bronze.Â
