CARROLLTON, Ga.-  Fresh off one of their most impressive wins of the season, the University of West Georgia (4-12-1, 2-5-1 ASUN) returns home Wednesday night to take on Jacksonville (8-4-3, 5-1-2 ASUN) at University Soccer Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. as the Wolves look to continue their late season surge in front of their home crowd.
UWG enters the matchup coming off a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory over Stetson on Sunday in DeLand, Fla. The Wolves fell behind early but responded with two second-half goals from Campbell Taylor and Chiara Lape to secure the program's season sweep against Stetson. The result also marked the team's first comeback win of the year and doubled both their overall and conference win totals from last season.
True freshman goalkeeper Emily Sanabria once again stood tall for the Wolves, recording seven saves to bring her season total to 99, just five shy of cracking the top three for most saves in a single season in UWG history. Heading into the match, look for Sanabria to become the first freshman since 2018 to record 100 saves in a season.
Offensively, the Wolves are led by Kaylen Brown and Noemi Casique, who share the team lead with three goals each, while Taylor and Rachel Higgins have contributed goals during conference play.
Jacksonville comes to Carrollton with momentum, as they have already clinched a berth in the ASUN Tournament. The Dolphins last match was a 3-3 draw against North Florida in Sunday's match against North Florida.
The Dolphins are led by the dynamic duo of Alicia Rey Perez and Olivia Peal. Rey Perez is a consistent scorer with 11 goals, while Peal adds four goals and two assists. Goalkeeper Pia Bozic is coming off a standout performance that featured nine saves and an assist from her own end of the field.
Wednesday's match will be UWG's first home contest since October 12 and the first of two matches to close out the regular season.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Carrollton, and fans can follow the action at University Soccer field, live stats, and streaming links available on the top of the page.
