Cross Country Earns Top Ten Finish in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- The University of West Georgia women's cross country team delivered a strong showing at the 2025 ASUN Championships, racing to a 10th place team finish and marking a major improvement from last season's 12th place result. The Wolves also dropped their team average time from 19:34 in 2024 to an impressive 18:55 this year, showcasing the growth and development of the program.

Junior Reatta Danhof made a statement in her first ASUN Championship race, leading the Wolves with a time of 18:21.8 to finish in 44th place overall. Close behind, junior standout Kristal McQueen, who led the Wolves last season, continued her consistency with a time of 18:25.0 to finish 46th. 

Several Wolves recorded improvements from last year's championship race. Senior Catherine Greer improved from her 2024 time of 18:57.3 to 18:41.2 this year to finish in 58th place. Senior Kathrin Maurer also made strides, cutting her time from 19:19.4 to 19:5.0 this season to secure 68th place. Both runners recorded impactful performances at the ASUN championship. 

The Wolves also saw strong performances from several other runners. Newcomer Linda Rivero recorded a time of 20 minutes flat in her first ASUN Championship. Haley Hartman finished with a time of 20:6.0, while Laney Pierce crossed the line with a time of 20:47.3. Madeline Gaskin followed closely behind at 20:57.9, and Jordan Jarnot rounded out the group with a time of 21:4.4.

West Georgia had their best conference performance to date in the ASUN era, showing clear progress and promise under the direction of head coach Ryan Bailey.
