Women's Cross Country Ready for Season Opening 5K

CARROLLTON, Ga.- The University of West Georgia women's cross country team is set to open its 2026 campaign on Friday at the Foothills Invitational at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama, at 9:30 a.m. The meet marks the Wolves' first race of the 2026 season. 

The Wolves are led by senior Reatta Danhof, who currently holds two of the top-five times in UWG history in the 5K. Danhof owns a personal-best time of 18:21.8, which ranks fourth all-time, while her time of 18:39.8 ranks fifth all-time in program history.

UWG returns three additional seniors who bring valuable experience to the lineup. Linda Rivero enters the season with a personal-best time of 20:00.0, while Jordan Jarnot owns a personal best of 20:41.2. Laney Pierce rounds out the senior group with a personal-best time of 20:42.8.

The Wolves also welcome twin sisters Jade Lawrence and Suri Lawrence to the roster as freshmen. The McDonough, Ga., natives attended Ola High School and are set to make their collegiate debuts at the Foothills Invitational. Jade enters UWG with a personal-best 5K time of 20:41.2, recorded at the Alexander/ASICS Invitational, while Suri posted a personal-best time of 21:36.4 at the same meet.

UWG is led by Head Coach Ryan Bailey, who enters his ninth season leading the Wolves' cross country and track & field programs.
