CARROLLTON, Ga. - Despite suffering their first defeat of the season, the UWG football team remain ranked for a fifth straight week when the rankings came out on Monday morning. UWG is ranked 21st in both the Stats Perform FCS Top-25 Poll and AFCA Coaches Poll and will host nationally-ranked Abilene Christian on Saturday.
It will be the first home top-25 matchup in the Wolves' Division I era, and just the second time they have ever hosted a nationally-ranked FCS program. Saturday's United Athletic Conference is the first top-25 matchup at University Stadium since a 2022 game against former GSC foe West Florida.
Saturday's opponent, Abilene Christian, is coming off of a 52-23 victory at home over North Alabama and enters week seven ranked 19th in the Stats Perform FCS Top-25 Poll and are actually tied at 21st with UWG in the AFCA Coaches Poll.
The same for UAC teams remain ranked with UWG and ACU joined by Tarleton State and Austin Peay who is up to 15/16 following the win over the Wolves.
Kickoff for no. 21 UWG and no. 19 ACU on Saturday, October 11, is set for 2 p.m. from University Stadium.
