YOUNGSVILLE, La. – The UWG softball team wrapped up the weekend at the Mardis Gras Mambo with a 10-2 Sunday loss to Houston Christian.
West Georgia (6-6) fell behind early, surrendering a run in the first, two in the third, and four in the fourth before getting on the board in the fifth.
Makayla Register singled with one out in the fifth and then after a walk, Sky Ramos doubled home a run and than Madison Vandergriff picked up an RBI on a sacrifice fly.
Houston Christian responded with three in the fifth to earn a run-rule victory.
Calli Hardison got the start and was charged with the loss, giving up three runs in three innings while striking out two.
Register had two hits to lead UWG. As a team, the Wolves had seven hits on Sunday.
UWG now sets their sights on their home opener, hosting Jacksonville State in a 6 p.m. contest on Tuesday, March 4.
