CARROLLTON, Ga. – The UWG softball team fell on Senior Day to the FGCU Eagles, dropping Sunday's series finale 8-3 at University Field. 

The Wolves were held without a hit through five innings but did end up scoring three runs before all was said and done. 

Kaprice Leonard started for the Wolves and got into the second before FGCU struck and took advantage of a pair of UWG errors to go up 4-0.  

FGCU used two hits and two walks in the third to add two runs and another error in the fifth plated a seventh Eagles' run.  

The Wolves finally got on the board in the fifth as two errors and a pair of walks plated two runs. In the sixth, after FGCU added an eighth run, the Wolves finally got a hit off of FGCU's reliever, ending their bid for a combined no-hitter. A single later and UWG had added a third run to account for the final. 

UWG's pitching staff gave up just seven hits but walked five batters and the defense committed three errors. FGCU's defense also made three errors and surrendered just three hits. 

Two of the hits came from seniors Blaire Bizette and Rylee Green while Makayla Register had the third with a pinch hit single. 

UWG is back on the road next week to wrap up the regular season. The Wolves travel to Jacksonville State on Tuesday for their final non-conference game before wrapping up the slate at Stetson next weekend.
