CARROLLTON, Ga. - UWG sophomore running back Latrelle Murrell has been named the United Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Murrell earned the honor after a game in which he had 200-plus all-purpose yards with two scores as the Wolves defeated ETSU in their home opener.
The Douglasville native finished the game with 116 yards rushing on 20 carries, averaging 5.8 yards per attempt. Murrell had three receptions on the night with two of them going fr touchdowns and totaled 92 yards receiving.
His first touchdown was a 62-yard reception that cut the Wolves' deficit to 14-10 at the time and his second was a 27-yard reception that made it a three-point game at the 6:40 mark of the final quarter.
Murrell is now eighth in FCS football on the season with 6.92 yards per carry and his 138.3 yards per game is third in the country.
