CARROLLTON, Ga. - Junior guard Sydne Tolbert has garnered ASUN Player of the Week honors after leading UWG women's basketball win a pair of games last week. 

Tolbert, who was named Co-Player of the Week alongside EKU's Liz Freihofer, scored 19 points in a win over North Florida on Thursday before a second consecutive 19-point performance in a win over Jacksonville on Saturday. The victory over JU was UWG's best win in terms of opponent NET ranking in the Division I era. 

The Louisville native was 13-of-23 (56.5 percent) from the field on the week, and 10-of-12 (83.3 percent) from the free throw line. In the Saturday win over the Dolphins, Tolbert was 8-for-10 from the free throw line. 

Tolbert was impressive all around, averaging 4.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game for the week. 

For her career, Tolbert is three steals away from eclipsing 100 career steals which would give her over 500 points, 200 rebounds, 200 assists, and 100 steals. She is the only active player at UWG with those numbers and the first since Aysha Harris who played at UWG from 2014-2019.  

Tolbert and the Wolves are set for another home weekend of ASUN action. UWG hosts FGCU on Thursday, January 15 at 7 p.m. FGCU brings a 58-game ASUN winning streak into The Coliseum while UWG looks to win a 10th consecutive game at The Coliseum.
