Box Score ATLANTA, Ga. - The UWG softball team was no-hit by Georgia Tech on Tuesday night in non-conference action in Atlanta, falling to the Yellow Jackets, 9-0 in five innings.
West Georgia (11-22) had just one baserunner as Madison McDonald earned a walk, but Tech's Sydnie Watts spun GT's first no-hitter since 2021. For the Wolves, it's the first time they've been no hit since 2023.
Georgia Tech (18-17) jumped all over the Wolves, putting up a six spot on eight hits in the first inning. The Yellow Jackets then added one in the third before tagging one two more in the fourth, with one of those coming on the game's only home run.
The Wolves' lone baserunner came in the second, but she was called out for leaving early on a stolen base attempt, meaning Watts faced the minimum in her five-inning no-hitter.
UWG used two pitchers as Abigail Helms got the start and gave up six of the nine runs while Delaney Hoyle gave up three in relief.
The Wolves are back to ASUN play this weekend, heading to Jacksonville for another three-game set against the Dolphins. The series is set for a Saturday twin bill and a finale on Sunday.
