Women's Golf Opens 2026-27 at Tiger Classic on Monday

8/21/2026 3:00:00 PM

CARROLLTON, Ga. - The second UWG sport to get started in competition in the new athletic year is the women's golf team and the Wolves tee it up officially on Monday morning at the Tiger Classic at Clemson's Walker Course.

Head coach Will Snodgrass is excited to get his new squad back on the links after a very successful 2025-26 season. Snodgrass is traveling all seven on his roster, entering two individuals in the event alongside his starting lineup.

Incoming transfer Alba Cáliz Rejas will anchor the lineup in the top spot and is followed by Sophie Dhaliwal who looks to build in her sophomore season after being named Freshman All-Conference last season. Dhaliwal made her collegiate debut at this same tournament in 2025 and tied for 32nd.

Another familiar face is in the third spot in the lineup as Emma Baier looks to get 2026-27 off to a good start, and she's followed by incoming freshman Myla Rookard. Another newcomer rounds out the lineup in Amalia Ortega, a transfer from Clarke College after earning All-Conference honors last season.

Juniors Anna Olesen and Sofia Mondragon will be kicking off their seasons competing as individuals.

Tournament host Clemson won the one-day event last season, and welcome back eight teams to make up a nine-team field competing for a title over 36 holes of play.

After a Sunday practice round, teams tee off on Monday morning and play two consecutive rounds.
