CARROLLTON, Ga. - West Georgia men's basketball head coach Dave Moore announced on Monday morning that the Wolves picked up University of Texas Rio Grande Valley transfer Marshal Destremau, marking the Pack's second college transfer signing in the past week.
Originally hailing from Perth, Australia, Destremau is a 6-foot-9 redshirt senior forward who most recently played at UTRGV.
"Marshal is a skilled 6'9" forward with great size and skill. We are excited about the experience he brings to our roster," said Moore. "We expect Marshal to come in and compete to play meaningful minutes at the five and four positions."
With the Vaqueros, Destremau competed in 54 games over a two-year span, averaging 3.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per game while totaling 36 assists, 25 blocks and 20 steals. One of his strongest performances at UTRGV saw the forward drop a career-high 16 points while shooting 100 percent from the field in the Vaqueros win over A&M-Corpus Christi (Feb. 1, 2025).
Before his time at UTRGV, the Aussie spent his redshirt freshman campaign competing with Clarendon College, a junior college located in Clarendon, Texas. Destremau played in 33 games that season, averaging six points and 6.2 rebounds per game on 47 percent shooting.
Prior to moving to Texas, Destremau redshirted his freshman year at Southern Utah.
