CARROLLTON, Ga. - The UWG women's golf team is set to get back to action in their second tournament of the season, competing on Monday and Tuesday in The Velvet at the Country Club of Paducah.
The event, hosted by Murray State, is an event the Wolves competed in last season and took third place. Four of the Wolves in the lineup that week are in head coach Will Snodgrass' lineup this year as the Wolves look to improve on that third place finish.
Emma Baier tied for 17th last season at The Velvet and will anchor the Wolves' lineup this week. The native of Quito, Ecuador is coming off a runner-up finish in her season-opening event at Clemson, shooting rounds of 72 and 68.
In the second spot in the lineup is Sophie Dhaliwal who also notched a top-10 finish to open her season. The Canadian shot rounds of 70 and 74 to finish seventh.
Sofia Mondragon is in the lineup for the first time this season after competing as an individual in the opener. She notched a top-10 finish at The Velvet in 2025, shooting rounds of 77, 75, and 72 to finish tied for seventh.
Also making her first start in the lineup is Anna Olesen. She closed out her last tournament with an even-par 72 and finished 37th at The Velvet in 2025.
Alba Cáliz Rejas rounds out the lineup for UWG as she makes her second start for the Wolves. In her UWG debut, she shot rounds of 75 and 76.
UWG is one of 13 teams in the field alongside North Alabama and Austin Peay from the United Athletic Conference. ASUN foe and former GSC rival West Florida is also in the field.
The Wolves play a practice round on Sunday before opening play on Monday with the first two of three rounds and the final rounds set for Tuesday from The Country Club of Paducah.
