9/15/2026 3:45:00 PM

PADUCAH, Ky. -  A final round 300 was not enough on Tuesday in Paducah, Kentucky as the Wolves finished third at The Velvet at the Country Club of Paducah.

Entering the final round with a one-over lead, UWG ended the day nine shots off of the lead.

"We're disappointed to not get the result we so wanted, but on reflection this is more forward progress for our program," said head coach Will Snodgrass. "This was the first time we held a lead going into the final round. We got off to a slow start which made it difficult.  However, they fought really hard to the end, and that's all I can ask."

The Wolves did secure a second consecutive individual runner-up finish as Sofia Mondragon shot a final round 74 to finish tied for second.

It was a career-best finish for the junior from Mexico who made two birdies on a one-under back nine to finish three-over for the event.

Two other Wolves notched top-10 finishes as Emma Baier and Sophie Dhaliwal tied for 10th. Dhaliwal shot a 76 in the final round while Baier finished with a 77.

It was a final round 78 for Alba Cáliz Rejas who finished 23rd. Anna Olesen shot the best round of the day for the Wolves, wrapping up the event with a 73 that featured two birdies. Olesen finished in 45th place.

"We will learn from this one, as coaches and players.," Snodgrass continued. "When we find ourselves in the same position again soon, we will be better equipped to handle it."

West Florida and Austin Peay tied for first with UWF winning in a playoff.

UWG's next action is set for next week at the Johnie Imes Invitational hosted by Missouri. It's set for Monday, September 21 and Tuesday, September 22.
