CARROLLTON, Ga. - Another week and another road trip is on tap for the West Georgia Wolves as UWG is on the road in college football action for a third-straight week traveling to East Tennessee State for a 12-noon kickoff on Saturday.

West Georgia (0-3) wraps up the three-game road stretch with the return trip to ETSU (1-2) in Johnson City, Tennessee on Saturday afternoon. Both teams are coming off of FBS losses with the Wolves dropping a 52-7 decision at Arkansas State while the Buccaneers traveled to Chapel Hill and fell 35-3 to Bill Belichick's UNC Tar Heels.
Despite the loss in Jonesboro, UWG looked improved against a Sun Belt foe, recording their highest offensive output at Arkansas State. The Wolves recorded 246 yards of offense, but was plagued by four turnovers which turned into 24 Red Wolves' points and 100-plus yards of penalties.
The offense was highlighted by T.J. Lockley hauling in 76 receiving yards and a touchdown while becoming the 19th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career yards.
Defensively, West Georgia only gave up one scoring drive of over 60 yards until late in the game when both teams had subbed and reserves were in the game.
Coming into their fourth game of the season, the linebacker combo of Andrew Ruffin and Chidu Bekee lead the Wolves' efforts with 19 tackles each. Lucas Naquin is third on the team with 18 stops while Stephan French ranks fourth with 16. French, however, is UWG's leader in solo tackles, racking up 11 through three games.
ETSU, whose lone win is over a Division II opponent, comes in with a solid offensive attack, ranking 28th in the country in total offense. On the ground, TJ Peyton leads the Bucs, averaging 6.5 yards per carry and rushing for 253 yards through three games.
In the air, Oxford, Alabama native Mason Mims has completed nearly 75 percent of his passes for 793 yards and five scores. His top target is Suderian Harrison whon has 15 receptions for 214 yards,
The Bucs defense is led by Dre Delinois who ranks 11th in the country with 10.7 tackles per game, recording 32 thus far in the season.
Saturday will mark the second meeting between the two teams. Last season's thrilling UWG win in Carrollton was the first meeting between the two teams. The trip to Tennessee represents UWG's 13th all-time game in the Volunteer State. The Wolves are 5-7 all-time in games played in Tennessee.
