COLUMBIA, Mo. - Fueled by three-top 20 finishes and a final round 69 from Emma Baier, the West Georgia Wolves women's golf team climbed one spot on the final day of the Johnie Imes Invitational to finish third at The Club at Old Hawthorne.

Beginning the day in fourth place, Baier and the Wolves posted a final round team score of 293, their lowest of the tournament, to finish third behind tournament host and champion Missouri and runner-up Missouri State.

"Today was a big test.  I challenged the team to finish on a real high, said head coach Will Snodgrass. "We wanted to stick to the game plan, hit as many fairways as we could and make great decisions from there. I couldn't be more proud to leave here with a 3rd place finish, and posting our tournament best 293."

Baier shot a bogey-free 69, making three birdies and 15 pars on her way to a fourth-place finish. The Quito, Ecuador native was one-under through 54 holes of the event.

Among the supporting cast of Wolves was Sophie Dhaliwal who finished with back-to-back birdies in her final round to post an even-par 72. Dhaliwal finished 14th place individually and five strokes ahead of Sofia Mondragon whose final round 76 put her in a 16th-place tie.

Alba Cáliz Rejas made four birdies in her final round, finishing with a four-over 76 which put her in a 27th-place tie. In 36th place was Anna Olesen who closed out the event with a 79 on Tuesday.

UWG jumped South Dakota State on the final day and finished four shots clear of the Jackrabbits.

"Once again Emma was amazing, she's a great leader," Snodgrass added. "Sophie was solid as always, but this was a complete team effort, and it takes all the players to perform to post these types of numbers!"

The Wolves' are now idle until October 12-13 when they return to the site of their record breaking performance a season ago, the Lady Red Wolves Classic in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
