Wolves Volleyball Hosts First-Ever UAC Home Match

CARROLLTON, Ga. - West Georgia volleyball prepares to host Abilene Christian this Saturday at 1 p.m. in the program's first UAC home match. Come out and support the Pack before heading to the 6 p.m. home football game vs. Fort Valley St. Both contests' ESPN+ broadcasts are tagged on the teams' respective schedules.

UWG (4-9, 0-1 UAC) welcomes the Wildcats (8-5, 0-1 UAC) to the City of Dreams for the conference clash that features two teams still searching for the first UAC victory.

The Wolves opened conference play this past Thursday (Sept. 24) at UT Arlington, where they fell to the Mavericks 3-2. In that match, outside hitter Brooke McCall led UWG with 19.5 points on 19 kills, despite not getting the start. She currently leads the Pack and the UAC in points (191.5) and kills (173). Another Wolf coming off a strong showing in the latest Lone Star State is middle blocker Milena Ćetković. Against UTA, the Montenegro native led the Pack and tied her career-high of six blocks, bringing her season blocks total to 33.

Looking at ACU, the Wildcats have been led in scoring by middle blocker Hannah Gonzalez, who has recorded a team-best 163.5 points from 126 kills and an ACU-high 52 blocks. These figures rank senior fourth in the conference in blocks, while her stellar .305 hitting percentage places her seventh overall. Under a month into the season, Gonzalez can already boast that she has won UAC Player of the Week two times this year.

Saturday's home match marks the first time UWG has taken on ACU in volleyball. The match is streaming on ESPN+, with all broadcast links tagged on the UWG volleyball schedule.
