Conference Home Stand Continues For UWG

CARROLLTON, Ga. - UAC play continues for West Georgia volleyball this Tuesday as the Wolves take on North Alabama in The Coliseum at 6 p.m.

Heading into the second match of a three-game home stand, UWG (4-10, 0-2 UAC) finds itself in the midst of a four-match losing streak and in search of its first UAC victory. After starting the season 10-0 while also not conceding a set in the opening nine matches, a recent skid by UNA (11-4, 1-1 UAC) has put the Lions 1-4 in the last five matches and looking to get back into the win column.

In the Wolves' most recent match, sophomore middle blocker Courtney Joseph showed up big by stuffing a season-high four blocks to double her total on the year. Outside hitter Valiree Schmus pushed the pace of the offense with 16 points from 13 kills in that match. This marked the sixth consecutive contest she reached double-digit figures. Schmus ranks second for the Wolves in points (183) and kills (160) behind outside hitter Brooke McCall with 198.5 points and 180 kills.

Looking at the Lions, UNA has been led in scoring this season by outside hitter Reese Ricketts with 183 points from 165 kills. She is coming off a 2025 campaign that featured Third Team All-ASUN honors. As a team, North Alabama really shines in hitting percentage, reflected by a second-best in-conference .242 team rate. They also rank top-three in the UAC in kills per set (13.14) and assists per set (12.31). On the other hand, UWG leads the conference in service aces per set (1.83).
