Carrollton, GA- The Wolves are traveling this week as they continue GSC play. They will face West Alabama on Thursday in Livingston, AL, and Mississippi College on Friday in Clinton, MS. Both matches are set for 8:00 pm, and live stats and video will be available for each.
West Alabama is led by Alexis Meeks in her first season as Head Coach. The Tigers are 7-4 overall and 1-2 in conference. Their one GSC win was against Valdosta State, whom the Wolves lost to in four sets over the weekend. Junior outside hitter Briana Sandifer leads the Tiger offense and is number one in the conference with 191 kills and 4.15 kills per set. She has also tallied 128 digs and 2.78 digs per set. Senior setter Callie Murphy returns this season, already producing 468 assists for the West Alabama offense. No doubt these two will be a powerful force on Thursday night at UWA.
Mississippi College enters their first season of GSC Championship eligibility this season after sitting for a two year transition period. Sophomore right side hitter Jenna Campbell leads the Choctaws offensively with 91 kills and 2.53 kills per set. Junior libero Madison Kimes leads the defense with 148 digs and 4.11 digs per set. They finished 10
th overall in conference last year with a 2-18 conference record. These two wins were against your West Georgia Wolves. The Wolves will be on the hunt for redemption against the Choctaws this Friday night in Clinton, MS.
