Carrollton, GA - The West Georgia Wolves returned to the friendly confines of The Coliseum on Tuesday evening, taking on the 24th-ranked North Alabama Lions in Gulf South Conference action. The Lions won the day, taking down UWG in straight sets with a 3-0 victory.
North Alabama opened the match with a quick 4-1 lead, then kept things there for the next 11 points, taking a 10-6 advantage at the midway point. The Wolves began to claw back into contention, using a solid game at the net, as West Georgia had five team blocks during the first set. UWG tied the set at 14-14 before North Alabama used an 11-4 run to close out the game with a 25-18 victory and a 1-0 lead in the match.

Jaida Allen had three of the Wolves' blocks in the set, delivering on a solo block and two block assists.
In the second set, North Alabama flexed their offensive muscle with 13 kills in the game, led by seven kills from Natasha Fomina. The Lions hit .478 in the frame, taking down the homestanding Wolves by a score of 25-12. In the third and final set, sophomore
Haylea Mannebach delivered on four of the Wolves' eight kills, but it wasn't enough, as the Wolves lost 25-16 to fall 3-0 in the match.
West Georgia falls to 3-10 on the year and 0-6 in GSC play, while UNA moves to 13-1 overall and 5-1 against Gulf South Conference competition. The Wolves will play on back-to-back nights later in the week, taking on the Shorter Hawks on the road on Thursday before returning home on Friday evening to play Lee at 7:00 p.m.
