Carrollton, GA- The Wolves fell to in-state rival Shorter University tonight in a 3-0 sweep. Set scores were 25-13, 25-9, and 25-22. They started slow and put up a good fight in set three, but the Wolves still couldn't match the Hawks' offense.
Sophomore Paige Berriochoa and Senior Jaida Allen led the team offensive with nine kills combined. They also each had .364 and .333 hitting percentages respectively. Sophomore Lindsey Thomas also contributed six kills. Coach Braden played three different liberos in the match tonight, producing 34 total digs, but they were still no match against Shorter's impressive offense.
Shorter had a high .261 hitting percentage compared to our .079 percentage. Elizabeth Dowd led offensively with 11 kills and a hitting percentage of .348. Cheyenne Frady and Alli Bell split time at the setter position, adding 17 and 11 assists respectively. The Hawks also had an impressive serving game, tallying 15 aces throughout the match.
