UWG Athletics Announces Stream and Radio Team for 2022 Football

CARROLLTON, Ga. - Legacies will live on through the airwaves and on FloSports in the 2022 Football season as UWG Athletics has announced the Stream and Radio team for the upcoming season.

Three UWG alums will be the primary voices for the Wolves on the air this season, beginning with Play-By-Play man Matt Skinner. Joining Skinner in the booth for the color commentary for the 2022 season will be one of the most prolific passers in the history of UWG football, Willie Candler. Roaming the sideline for the Wolves this season will be a longtime supporter and local high school radio play-by-play man, Cade Parian.

Skinner grew up on the sideline at University of West Georgia games. The son of former Sports Information Director and longtime statistician Ken Skinner, Matt graduated from the University of West Georgia and as the Sports Director at Gradick Communications, he has been instrumental in changing the way high school sports is covered in the Carrollton area. He has been the driving force behind the Gradick Communictions move into a live stream simulcast on the radio and Facebook.

Candler came to UWG in the fall of 2015 as a quarterback prospect out of Lovett High School in Atlanta. He redshirted in that season, and he took over the regular starter duties at quarterback against West Alabama in week seven of the 2016 season, never looking back. By the end of his career on the gridiron, Candler held nearly every single-season and career passing record available at the University of West Georgia. His move into the announcers booth marks the first time that a player alumnus will be on the color commentary for the Wolves.

Parian has been a longtime supporter of the Wolves. A graduate of the University of West Georgia and a 3rd generation Carrollton resident, Parian spends his days running The Parian Lawyers firm out of Carrollton and has been moving into the world of announcing over the past five years. This year, he moved off the sideline for high school games and into the booth as the play-by-play man for Carrollton High School games. His interests at UWG have not only been within the world of athletics, but he has been called upon by the Chancellor of the University System of Georgia twice to help select the President of the University of West Georgia. He also served as President of the University of West Georgia Athletic Foundation.
