CARROLLTON, Ga. – The next chapter of UWG women's basketball and year two of the
Joanna Reitz era is just over a month away and the UWG Department of Athletics has finalized the 2023-24 schedule.
The upcoming 28-game slate features 15 games at The Coliseum including each of the first four. Season ticket renewals will open on Monday, October 9 and will be open to the general public on Friday, October 13.
Before the regular season tips off, the Wolves will travel to a Power-5 opponent for an exhibition against Southeastern Conference foe, Auburn. Tip-off for that game is set for 8 p.m. EST from Neville Arena.
The action officially begins at The Coliseum on November 10 as West Georgia plays host to the Gulf South/SIAC Crossover. The Wolves will open up the season against Albany State at 2 p.m. on Friday and then face off with Tuskegee on Saturday, November 11 at 2 p.m.
Non-conference play continues on November 18 as the Wolves host Talladega for a 2 p.m. game as the final tune-up before league play kicks off the following Saturday.
GSC play comes in full swing on November 25 at The Coliseum as the Wolves host the Warhawks of Auburn Montgomery at 2 p.m. From there, it's a sprint to the holiday break as the Wolves will play six games including home matchups with Union on December 3 and a rivalry tilt with Valdosta State on Thursday, December 7. December 19 is the final game before the holiday break, and it's a dip back to non-conference play as the Wolves will travel to perennial power North Georgia for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff in Dahlonega.
The Wolves are then idle until December 30 when they travel to Alabama Huntsville before returning to The Coliseum on January 2 to face off with West Alabama.
The month of January continues with road trips to Shorter, Mississippi College, and Union, while West Georgia hosts Lee on January 8, Delta State on January 10, Montevallo on January 20, Christian Brothers on January 24, and West Florida on January 31.
A road trip to Valdosta awaits the Wolves on February 3 and is the first of three straight road games as West Georgia also travels to AUM and West Alabama before a February 17 home game against Alabama Huntsville.
The final four games of the regular season are at Lee on February 21, home games against Shorter on February 24 and the final home game of the regular season is February 28 against Mississippi College. The regular season concludes on March 2 with a road test at Delta State.
The Gulf South Conference tournament begins with the opening round on March 5 and the semifinals and finals are set for March 9-10 on the campus of Samford University.
