CARROLLTON, Ga. - The NCAA has released the first set of official region rankings for the 2023 season, and the University of West Georgia remains inside the top 10.
The Wolves (31-16, 17-13 GSC) were ranked eighth in the South Region rankings, joining West Florida (2nd), Montevallo (4th), Alabama-Huntsville (5th), and Valdosta State (6th) from the Gulf South Conference who are ranked inside the top 10. Tampa from the Sunshine State Conference remains atop the polls as they have all season long.
The top eight teams will be invited to the regional tournament, which will be hosted by the top seed.
The Wolves are back in action on Friday in the first round of the Gulf South Conference Tournament, taking on the Valdosta State Blazers at 5 p.m. EST.
