Box Score CLINTON, Miss. - The University of West Georgia Baseball team dropped the series finale, 8-5, to the Mississippi College Choctaws on Saturday.
In a game that saw three weather delays that accumulated around three hours and 30 minutes of stoppage time, UWG (22-22, 13-14 GSC) committed four errors, leading to a two-run Mississippi College (19-22, 10-17 GSC).
Garrett Moody got the start for the Wolves in Game Three and struggled to get through the first inning as the freshman allowed four runs on four hits, a walk, and two errors from West Georgia's defense.
Down 4-0 in the third inning, the game entered a lightening delay. After an hour delay, play resumed with runners on second and third with
Cooper Prince at the plate, with two outs in the inning. Prince went down on strikes, keeping UWG's deficit at four.
After the delay, head coach
Jeff Smith brought in
Brendan Parks. Parks allowed a solo home run, extending MC's lead to 5-0.
In the middle of the third inning, the game was interrupted by two more weather delays. The action resumed some time later where
Beau Brand put West Georgia on the board with a two-run double, in the fourth inning, making it a 5-2 game.
In the bottom half, Mississippi College got those runs right back as a double from Caleb Reese and a sacrifice-fly from JT Vance put the Choctaws back up by five.

Cooper Prince to score as the Wolves cut the Choctaws lead down to four.
West Georgia inched closer in the top of the sixth as
Jackson Webb hit his seventh home run of the season to make it a three-run game.
UWG kept chipping away at MC's lead as
Jack Witmer delivered an RBI-single in the top of the seventh, cutting Mississippi College's lead to 7-5.
In the eighth, the Choctaws secured themselves an insurance run as Reese hit a solo home run to put the Wolves in a three-run hole with three outs remaining.
UWG put pressure on MC in the ninth, but was only able to score one run as they fell, 8-6, in Game Three.
West Georgia will be back on the road on Tuesday for a 5:00 p.m. non-conference matchup against North Georgia.
