Wolves Set to Rematch Tennessee Tech at Home

12/4/2025 1:48:00 PM

CARROLLTON, Ga. - Following a two-game road swing, UWG men's basketball returns home to host Tennessee Tech in a rematch this Saturday (Dec. 6) at 2 p.m. The game will stream live on ESPN+, and tickets can be purchased via the link tagged above.

Coming off a double overtime win at Troy (Dec. 1), the Wolves (5-3) look to secure the season sweep over the Golden Eagles (3-6), a team that is riding a three-game losing streak and playing in its fifth straight road game.

In the latest head-to-head matchup, UWG held on to beat TTU 61-59 at the Eblen Center in Cookeville, Tennessee, after the Golden Eagles outscored the Wolves 17-9 in the final eight minutes of play. That victory pushed the Wolves' all-time series lead to 3-1.

In the Pack's recent double overtime thriller at Troy, guard Chas Lewless showcased his ability to take over the game at a moment's notice. At the end of regulation, the guard had only tallied six points, but he was just beginning to heat up. Like a man possessed, Lewless drained 20 overtime points, shooting 75 percent (6-8) from the field, 100 percent (3-3) from three and 83 percent (5-6) from the line. In the final minute of play, Lewless and Troy went shot-for-shot from beyond the three point line, but the Trojans could not keep pace with the Motor City sharpshooter. Lewless finished the night with a career-high 26 points and four steals while also totaling three rebounds, two assists and one block. Currently, he is averaging 13 points, 3.4 assists (eighth in the ASUN) and 3.3 rebounds per game.

Another Wolf posting top-ten ASUN figures is forward Shelton Williams-Dryden. Riding a 14-game double-digit scoring streak that dates back to last year's EKU contest (Feb. 13), Williams-Dryden currently ranks second in the ASUN, averaging 18.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per game while ranking seventh in field goal percentage with a 45 percent clip. The last time UWG faced TTU, the forward knocked down 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, marking the second of three double-doubles that he has achieved this season. When discussing how Williams-Dryden has played on the glass this year, head coach Dave Moore recently said, "He has been rebounding like a man."

For TTU, the Golden Eagles are led on offense by Mekhi Cameron, who is averaging 11.8 points per game while shooting 44 percent from the field and 35 percent from three. Along with leading the team in scoring, Cameron averages 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. The last time UWG faced TTU, the guard scored six points and tied for a team-high seven rebounds. Remarkably, the only games Cameron has not scored 10 or more points this season was against UWG, Kentucky and Georgia.

In the Wolves' latest head-to-head with the Golden Eagles, TTU was led by forward Dani Pounds with 17 points. That performance marked Pounds' season-high until he recently dropped 19 against Lipscomb. Nine games in and the guard averages 11 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. Pounds' 1.1 steals per game is tied with guard Ja'Quavian Florence for a Tennessee Tech-high.

Looking at team stats, UWG averages 78.4 points per game while shooting 45 percent from the field, 38 percent from three and 65 percent from the line. Defensively, the Wolves concede an average of 79.8 points per game. TTU averages 77.9 points per game while shooting 46 percent from the field, 30 percent from three and 70 percent from the line. On defense, the Golden Eagles have allowed an average of 81 points.

UWG and TTU tip off in The Coliseum this Saturday (Dec. 6) at 2 p.m. Links to live streaming and where tickets can be purchased are tagged at the top of the page.
