Chance at Redemption as Wolves Host Hatters in Carrollton

9/23/2025 11:12:00 AM

CARROLLTON, Ga.- The Wolves return home this Thursday, September 25, for a 7 p.m. kickoff at University Soccer Field as UWG host Stetson.

West Georgia (2-9-0, 0-2-0 ASUN) enters the contest seeking their first conference victory after a tough two match road trip in Jacksonville. The Wolves have leaned heavily on freshman goalkeeper Emily Sanabria, who leads the conference with 65 saves and a .774 save percentage.

Offensively, Noemi Casique and Kaylen Brown are leading the team with two goals each, while Campbell Taylor has led the team with 18 shots. UWG has netted seven goals on the year , averaging 7.7 shots per game. At home, the Wolves have been competitive with a 2-3 record in Carrollton, and they aim to carry that energy into conference play on their home field.

Stetson (3-7-0, 0-1-0 ASUN) makes the trip to Georgia after a 3-1 setback against FGCU in their conference opener. The Hatters have scored 10 goals this season, led by a balanced attack that features Avery Wise, Madison Bell, and Payton Quinones, each with one goal and at least one assist.

Stetson is averaging 1.00 goals and firing 8.3 shots per match, while allowing 25 goals in 10 contests. Goalkeeper Clare Boesel holds a 1.42 goals against average, while Riley Tarvin has played significant minutes with 13 saves.

The last meeting between these two programs was a tight defensive contest in 2024, with Stetson escaping with a 1-0 victory. That result adds extra motivation for the Wolves as they look to win on their home field.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Thursday at University Soccer Field. Fans are encouraged to pack the stands at University Soccer Field.
